The Modify SQL Server configuration maintenance path doesn't run the SQL Server collation prerequisite check that a new install or upgrade performs. Before you continue, verify that the target SQL Server instance and the site database both use the required collation, SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS. Moving or pointing the site to an instance or database that uses a different collation can corrupt data and cause site failures that might not appear immediately.
